The view from my kitchen...

is very unappealing.

We are showing our local weather today for Show and Tell. It was so bright today that my snow pictures didn't turn out. So, I had to show you my snow against an ugly, brown AMC Pacer, circa 1976.

It's horrendous. And I have to look at it. Every day.

I once considered crashing into it and blaming the ice, but that would ruin my nice, comfortable mini-van so I opted out.

The owner of this car knows that it's ugly and keeps it in her side yard, rather than in her drive way, or her EMPTY garage! It's presence graces the view from the alley, which also happens to be the view from my kitchen. Is it any wonder I don't want to do my dishes?

The car rarely moves. In spring and fall, the nice, lady neighbor lines the back of the Pacer with garbage bags and fills it with her yard debris. When it's full she drives it to the land fill, then comes home to VACUUM out the ugly Pacer. After vacuuming, it sits. Waiting for it's next trip to the land fill. It is a well cared for ugly car.

And this concludes my Show and Tell. Can't wait to see yours!

I drove a green Pacer during Driver's Ed in high school. I hated that car even new.

have you considered painting a yellow smiley face on the side of it? there is that vandalism law tho....or maybe a BIG wooden fence, just to cover that up? our neighbour on one side always has a pile of leftover construction materials in his yard, the view out our new family room window. we moved our shed to that side of the yard ;-)

sorry bout your view...but u have snow!! :-)

ha! my dad used to work for american motors, so we had one of each of the ugly cars during my growing up years. the picture actually makes me nostalgic! :)

isn't it strange how we (or our neighbors) become clutterblind to junk and eyesores??

thanks for your question amy, i have blogged my answers - sure appreciating you jarring the ice!

But even in its ugliness, the color reminds me of the car my Granny had, it was a brown Chevy Chevelle. I lusted after that car, but cousin got it after my Granny died and then she totalled it, all before I was of driving age. Alas...

here is what I have decided: a plant. A plant needs to sit right smack dab in that window where it will LOVE the light and BLOCK the car! See? That'll improve the view!! Maybe something that blooms...

Ah, well--we have an ugly car, too. I've been pestering my husband to sell it!

Sorry, but the car cracks me up. It's perfect story fodder. Maybe you can write a short one about your plots to destroy/alter/disguise it or the view of it. It'd be great! "The Pacer Problem"...
