Information Needed

In a few months I will be 40, so I have to get my first mammogram. (Boys, look away now).

So, I need information. Have you had one? How was it? What's your story?

If you post about it, leave a link in the comments. Or just comment.

I'm very interested. I don't want to do it, but I'm going to anyway. Because that's what mature and responsible women do.

It's worth looking into some other options. Thermography for one (though I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right). Might not be covered by your health plan, but worth the money as it is pain-free.

It's not so bad at ALL.
It's really only uncomfortable - don't go right before your period or it will be more so. If the tech is good it is quick and relatively easy.
REALLY.
Now, a colonoscopy is a whole different matter...

It's really not bad and so worth the peace of mind.
I just breathe deeply and slowly and you know it will be over soon.

WAY less painful than dental work and WAY less painful than back spasms and WAY less painful than getting your urethra stretched by the urologist and now you know WAY more about me!

I agree with Blackbird - I had my first one in April of this year and I was not looking forward to it one bit.

I had built it up to something much worse. My tech was efficient and it took 30 minutes - including parking and registering and changing and leaving the parking lot of the hospital.

Oh man - had a few of those already in my short life - HA!!! I've heard it's easier if you're bigger - (got that covered!) - but when they say to hold your breath - take their advice!! It's a little tight!
