Locks of Love

My daughter has been growing her hair for only one reason. So she could donate it to a child who needs some. Locks of Love is a great organization that helps kids who have lost their hair by making wigs and hair pieces.

My oldest daughter donated her hair a few years ago and provided the inspiration for our next daughter to grow out her hair in order to donate it. Finally, after a really long time growing it out so it wouldn't be too short when we cut it, (hair has to be at least 10 inches long in a ponytail) we were able to go and chop it off.

I love it that she planned and reached a goal of her own choosing. She is one of the greatest people I know. Not because of the hair, but because of her little personality and spirit and charm.

Powerful and impressive. Tell your daughter I said so. Thank her for me for being brave and kind.

That's a wonderful thing for a young girl to do. Many adults don't care enough to take the time like she did. I'm sure you're very proud of her.

This was GREAT!!! Thanks you, billions, Amy! You must have great style, 'coz I love Ali's stuff, too!

I've been off the scapbooking bandwagon for a while because I've been writing, and frankly, also because we've never had a place I could call a 'studio'. Very very neccessary for big-time art-making! So all my stamps/paper/pens/embossing powders/you name it are collecting dust.

Also had a big cry this morning. Not that anything terrible was happening; on the contrary, Tesla gave me a big kiss before she ran off to play at preschool. It's just little things; she's been very echolalic recently, but she's also coming down with a cold, so that may be the reason. Just so sad for these kids and all of us parents sometimes.

That, and it's the chocolate-craving time of o' the month here. hee hee.

I've also been meaning to thank you for your prayers and sweet encouragement. They've come at an important time for me. A couple of weeks ago I wondered what you were up to when you announced that you'd pray for us! You just keep listening to that small voice.

I'd love to meet you one of these days. Maybe sometime I'll finally get my scrap together and we can have a cut 'n' pastin' good time! ha ha!

peace,
shanna

I'm doing that, too!!!! I've been growing for about 2 years now & I'm constantly tempted to just cave & cut it. But I think by next summer it will be long enough.
Please give my congratulations to the amazing, goal-setting accomplisher!! :) What a superhero!
