Tweet, tweet

I joined twitter a while back, and maybe twittered, twice? three times?

I just didn't get it.

But now that I'm in my little office all day long, I think it might be nice to pick it up and give it another whirl...

Only to discover that Twitter has been blocked at my work because it is considered a social network site. But I know some of you consider it crucial and necessary to your work day.

So, do I ask for it to be unblocked? Should I bring my laptop to work? Can I even get wireless here?

I don't know. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

What do you think? Is twitter beneficial to you and your work day or is it just one more distraction?

i hate it and don't like that they've turned fb into a twitter like product... oh well - this was so funny:

Sorry - LOVE to tweet and I get LOTS of good ideas from there for work - AND home - I see some very good aspects of twittering!!!

I don't twit. Or tweet. I'm lame perhaps, but blogging is enough of a time suck for me!

I don't have an account and don't want one---does anyone care that much about what others are doing all the time?? Not me.
And I agree---I am very irritated that FB now is so similar.

My work actually encourages us to be on twitter. I am part of the staffing team at a PR company - getting our name out there and being public is seen as a small job duty for all of us. I'm not sure how long I can avoid getting an account...

I love Twitter. But each to their own. A lot of librarians tweet, so I do get some work input, but mostly I use it as a distraction in between whatever I'm doing and to connect with people of like minds.
